Precision calibration for independence of environmental factors

The VarioCAM ® high resolution research 700 series is calibrated at highest standards using more than only a few calibration curves. Besides, the integrated high-speed shutter cares for an internal calibration if needed. Fast changes of the operating temperature of the infrared camera therefore will have no effect on the measurement at all.

Excellent thermal resolution of 30 mK for detecting smallest faults

The thermal resolution of the infrared camera VarioCAM ® high resolution research 700 series indicating the smallest temperature differences being resolvable is as small as 30 mK (0.030°C) at some 30°C. Smallest temperature spans will still show details in great sharpness. Customers will be able to detect faults where other cameras will not measure anything and faults can already be seen at an earlier stage.

Dynamic range of 16 bit for detailed signal differentiation

Having an excellent detector and lens is a sound basis for a precise measurement of a thermographic camera. Still the data need to be transferred into electrical signals. The VarioCAM ® high resolution research 780 can digitize the signals with a dynamic range of 16 bit - 65,536 small temperature steps in each of the measurement ranges. This is 49,152 steps more than with conventional 14 bit camera systems which of course will result in a much clearer measurement result.

Highest geometrical resolution of (1,280 x 960) pixels for avoiding measurement errors

Infrared detector technologies still suffer from much lower pixel number compared with digital cameras in the visual range. This means like in the old days of digital camera that every pixel counts. VarioCAM ® high resolution research 700 series takes care of this by providing not only state of the art (640 x 480) infrared pixels but even (1,280 x 960) infrared pixels. This is achieved by the unique Microscanning Technology that is based on a highly precise opto-mechanical interface which easily guarantees a quadruplication of pixel numbers. Even though this process is more than simple interpolation. It really provides customers with more measurement data and thereby securing higher measurement precision. Therewith, the
VarioCAM ® high resolution research 700 series guarantees to avoid measuring mistakes resulting from average values of low pixel numbers.

Standard temperature measuring range of (-40 to 1,200) °C for precision in measurement

The VarioCAM ® high resolution research 700 allows for secure measurements from (-40 up to 1,200) °C. Especially the lower temperature measurement capability indicates the excellence of the infrared camera as even lowest infrared signals will still be transferred into a significant thermal image. Even though lower and higher temperatures might not be needed for all applications the ability of being able to measure them greatly enhances the flexibility of the user.

Real-time radiometric data transfer to computer with 60 Hz

The VarioCAM ® high resolution research 700 series already comes with a connection mode inbetween infrared camera and computer via FireWire (IEEE1394) for remote control and for viewing and saving thermal digital videos on your computer. In addition, radiometric data can be stored on your computer with 60 Hz which allows a comprehensive online and ex post analysis for these rapid sequences.

High measurement accuracy of up to +/-1.5 % and better for correct measurements

If the measured object has a temperature of 18.7 °C it always needs to be measured as 18.7 °C and VarioCAM ® high resolution research 700 takes care of this demand. Customers can rely on correct measurements with an accuracy as small as +/- 2 %. In the range of 0°C to 100°C the measurement will be even more correct with a maximum even though unusual difference of only +/- 1.5 K (1.5 °C).
